Hi guy's
I am interested in what make head bolts people are using, part number 049 103 385 for the WR engine? And any feedback on how they have been once used?
Regards Phil.

Re: Head bolts
Hi Phil,
I hope I understood your question correctly. I used head bolts from Elring M 11x1,5x98. The head bolts are expansion screws, for this reason you can only use them once.

Re: Head bolts
Hi Michael
Yes you understood correctly, and I am aware they are single use only. So how long have they been fitted on your engine?
The main reason for this post is to find out what make of aftermarket head bolts are the best to use and ones NOT to use.
Does anyone else have a input on this topic ?
Phil.

What about the ARP Bolts? Not only for single use. Works well in my 20V.

Re: Head bolts
Hello Phill,
in short, do not buy the cheap AM CCP crap.
Most of these bolts are undersized. Meaning, they are ø0.2mm to ø0.4mm smaller then the OE M11x1.5. You don't even know if they meet any criteria like the stretching part. I stripped out a short block once, so to say, I found it out the hard way.
Get the OE bolts from your friendly AUDI dealer. Not cheap but better then..... you know.
Ciao
